Biography

Admired for his originality, talent, and ability to inspire, Evandro Rodriguese is conductor of the Aprendiz Symphonic Orchestra, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro.

Originally from Sorocaba, Rodriguese is a pianist and arranger and holds a bachelors degree in Orchestral Conducting from Faculdade Santa Marcelina - São Paulo, where he studied conducting with Maestro Emiliano Patarra. Besides college, Rodriguese also participated in a group of advanced studies in orchestral conducting with Maestro Roberto Tibiriçá (São Paulo) and subsequently participated as a student conductor in orchestral conducting masterclasses with Maestro Isaac Karabtchevsky, at the Olinda International Music Show- MIMO (Recife - 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014).

 

Rodriguese also studied with the Maestro Ricardo Rocha, who helped Rodriguese improve in technique, analysis, and opera conducting while in Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Rodriguese has conducted the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Sorocaba, the Heliópolis Symphony Orchestra, the Bachiana Youth Orchestra, and the Barra Mansa Symphony. He also served as assistant conductor of the Sorocaba Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and collaborated in several concerts with the L'Estro Armonico Chamber Orchestra in São Paulo. In the realm of vocal music, Rodriguese has notably performed more than 90 concerts with the Male Choir CBA-Votorantim Group, performed a concert version of Norma by Vincenzo Bellini in the FINEP-RJ concert series, and led the Lyric Opera Company of Rio de Janeiro in several reduced versions of operas such as La Traviata and Madama Butterfly. His work has won several awards over the years, consistently being praised for his high level of musicality and leadership.

 

In 2015, Rodriguese completed the degree in orchestral conducting at the Atlantic Coast International Conducting Academy in Portugal, taking part in masterclasses and regular classes with conductors Luis Miguel Clemente (PT), Colin Metters (UK), Roberto Fiore (IT) and Jaime Branco (PT), having the opportunity to conduct the Atlantic Coast Orchestra and the Orquestra Nacional de Sopros.

In May 2017, with the Aprendiz Symphony Orchestra, Rodriguese will record a DVD with new works by Brazilian composers, and others already recognized from the repertoire of Brazilian concert music. Produced by IMMUB - Brazilian Musical Memory Institute and sponsored by the CCR Institute.
